Laptop Ethernet/network card broken?
Recently my Acer Aspire 6930G laptop's ethernet/network card (Atheros AR8121/8113/8114 PCI-E Ethernet) broke down, resulting in my internet speed to always stay at 0.49mbs for dl on speedtest.net while my roomate using the same lan cable and internet as me gets 4mbs. My network card is embedded into the motherboard, so i was wondering if

can solve my problem, cause I'm not sure if it will work if my network card in motherboard broke down, and if i need to visit a computer repair store or not. As they are costy T_T
Disable the on-board NIC in the system's BIOS and buy a USB or PC Card (akc PCMCIA) Ethernet adapter. Problem solved for a lot less than replacing a laptop system board.
