Raid access failure?
Hello,
My MOBO is an ASUS P5N32-E SLI QUAD 680I 775
I keep getting the below message:
Raid access failure
Access failure: Critical error on disk Hitachi: HDT25032VLA360 (Port: SATA 2.1)
Sometimes it crashes the PC, sometimes it doesn't. If I click on the message, it takes me to the storage properties of the Nvidia Control Panel. It says that the striping and both HDs are healthy.
I have already downloaded the last updated drivers from Nvidia and the message still appears (now it doesn't crash though).
Does anyone know if I should worry about this error message?
I can't identify if it is a driver problem or if the RAID is bad.
Thanks,
I've had too many issues with RAID setups on ASUS boards that I gave up. The older P4 series for 478s always failed for me after a few months. ASUS claims you should always flash the bios to the newest version. If you've had one issue with the RAID striping on the ASUS board, it'll keep propagating. I've never been able to get it reset. Depending on your striping you should either reformat and start over or try to replace/reformat the "corrupted" drive. I've had a Raptor drive die due to a bad RAID setup. One other issue I've had is the SATA cables never seem to set firmly in the board which would cause the failure. Good luck.
