Counting Data on Mobile for ISP billing?
almost all mobile phone service companies are providing Internet serfing. to facilitate user to have controlled use at economical rates they give different plans to suit out needs.
For limited use plans they charge according to the MB or GB.
basic unit of Data is Bit, and 8 Bits are Bytes.
Data counter on my mobile shows 'b' as unit of number of counts.
What is this b, is it bit or byte.
suppose one company gives 24 hour use plan and limited to 40MB, how many b will be available to me.
and there are two separate counting , one for sent data and another for received data. I presume that sum of both sent and received data is taken as total data downloaded. Please inform and enlighten on this.
"b" would stand for the number of bytes.
40MB would be 40,000,000 bytes.
