HP Pavilion desktop pwr fluctuates after improper RAM insertion?
When I turned it on, it emitted a constant tone and then I smelled something burning or getting way hot. I tried to pwr it down, but ended up pulling the plug.
Now when I plug it in the power turns on and then drops out, then turns on and then drops out, including the cooling fan, which hopefully is an indicator that the pwr supply is bad and not the board.
I tried adding 512k RAM to the board. IDK if the RAM is bad, but I tried the comp w/o it and got the same results.
Help, plz.......
may be forget to connect power of fan or may the smps or loose contact in power plug ..
