I have Sudden Allergies...Why?
I am a 22 yr old female. Suddenly in the past year to year and a half, I have developed allergies to the following:
Pineapples, Oranges, Grapefruit, Strawberries, Gluten (bread, pasta, etc), Latex, Sugar, milk and jewelry (platinum, 14k, 24k, white gold, yellow gold, sterling silver, solid-not plated)
When I consume these foods, my throat and lymph nodes swell up and my mouth becomes itchy and red, then develops white patches.
Benydryl does not help me.
The jewelry makes my skin develop a rash that doesn't go away for weeks. Lotions, neosporin, etc does not help either.
Does anyone know why this is happening? I made an appointment with an allergist, but I can't get in until May 2009. I am miserable here, please help!
You can just suddenly get allergies and it's not pleasant. I was on an anti-inflammatory for 3 years when I became allergic, I collapsed, couldn't breathe, felt like insects were crawling all over my body and burned up. I'm afraid it's a case of learning to live with them I'm afraid.
