When making a cisco Lab (CCNA)?
does the lab actually have to be connected to multiple PC's for it to work. I can build the lab to study on (i would rather be more hands-on, and im aware of the cost) but i only have one pc.
Use VMs. You can download the latest version of VMWare player for free (see below), and that will allow you to create your own virtual machines. Make a mix of Windows and Linux VMs (or just Linux if you don't have any Windows licences). That should allow you to simulate multiple PCs, and then you just setup the connection between the switch (or router) and the physical box as an interface.
If you're not familiar with VMWare and using virtual machines, then this is a really good opportunity to get familiar with it. Most organizations are moving towards few physical boxes and more VMs. So knowledge of VMWare (the industry standard), especially with respect to networking, is essential.
