Can I wire a Cat5 cable to a RJ45 Wall Plate?
I have a Cat5 ethernet cable running, that comes out a hole in the wall. I bought a Rj45 ethernet wall plate. They both have 8 minicables, but the Cat5e wall plate has Green, Green/White, Blue,Blue/white, Brown, Brown/White, Orange, Orange/white.
The RJ45 wallplate on the back has different colored minicable connectors, Blue, Orange, Black, Red, Green, Yellow, Brown, and white.
The Cat5 cable is for ethernet so can I wire it to the RJ45 wallplate even though the mini wires are different colors?
They are both for ethernet. Can I do this? How would I match the wires.

Contrary to your belief, the RJ45 wallplate is not meant for ethernet. It's an 8P8C connector for a phone. Will it work as a network jack? Maybe. I wouldn't use it, but if you really want to try, wire it thusly:
1 Blue --- Orange/White
2 Orange --- Orange
3 Black --- Green/White
4 Red --- Blue
5 Green --- Blue/White
6 Yellow --- Green
7 Brown --- Brown/White
8 White --- Brown
I'd still recommend a CAT5 wallplate with a CAT5 jack.
