Is it possible to use a Linksys Wireless N Network Adaptor for the Xbox 360?
Is it possible to use the wireless n network adaptor in place of the much more costly Xbox 360 version. The Xbox 360 version is about $100 and the Linksys one runs as low as $20. I know they are meant for computers, but could I attach one to the back of my Xbox 360 to work with my wireless router, in place of the Xbox 360 version?
No, you can't use those. But, there are some other options...
1. You could buy a wireless ethernet adapter like the Mad Catz or Saitek. They plug into your ethernet port, act as a bridge and work pretty well.
2. You could bridge your xbox through your laptop (if you have one and it's wireless). I don't recommend it and it can be a pain to configure but... it's an option.
3. You could try Powerline. Some folks have had pretty good luck with that. It uses your electrical wiring as a wired "ethernet" source, so to speak.
4. Or... just fork over the dough for the Microsoft wireless adapter. It works very well.
