I need help with SATA controller card?
I have an older computer with no SATA connections. I tried to install a PCI SATA controller card so I can run a DVD RW that I purchased. When I put the card into the PCI slot and tried to start my computer, I get a message that says something like, "Please install and push any key to reboot." It's a black screen and will not go any further. Can anyone please help?
That SATA card should have come with drivers for you to install. Did you install them? Those drivers might even have components that must be loaded before windows.. which if it is the case, they would be put into place when you install the drivers.
However, you can also get an IDE to SATA converter, that will allow you to use a SATA device without that SATA card.
