How does one wire a three post (black, white, and red wire) track light, with only a black and white wire?
Only a black and white wire coming from the breaker box...
I don't think you have a 220 volt track light. The track most likely gives you the option to use two switches depending on which way you snap the fixture base in. You can either cap the red wire and turn the fixture one direction or like the cheese person said splice the red and black together then connect them to the black feed and white to white. Remember electricity does not see colors and you never know what the person before you did. I strongly recommend calling a licensed electrician. It's not worth getting hurt over.
