can fiber optic light cable be used outside?
Lets say I wanted to make a garden statue out of concrete and put end glow fiber optic cable in it to light up eyes or widows and such. Would the fiber optic cable be ok exposed to direct sunlight? Plastic fiber not glass fiber.
That depends upon the ability of the cable to absorb UV light without suffering damage. Usually a stabilised polyethylene or PVC sheath is enough. You'd get a few years out of a cover of black electrician's tape or even duct tape.
