What is difference between PCI card slot and a PC card slot. Are they synonyms for one another?
Are they the same thing? I'm looking to buy a tv tuner for my laptop but my laptop has a PC card slot. Is this slot the same as saying PCI slot?
Not the same--
PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) is located on the motherboard of most desktops. You would need to open the desktop case to access these slots. Most desktops have empty (spare) PCI slots for things like TV tuner cards.

PC card (short for PCMCIA, for Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) plugs into the side of many laptops 'on the fly'--you can usually plug them in or remove them without shutting down the laptop.
