Need help with this....trying to calculate the the power number (Np) of an impeller:
The equation is:
Np= (2 x Pie x T)/ p x N^2 x D^5
Pie=3.14....
T= 10 Newtons/metre
p=1000kg/m^3
N= 1 rev per second or 1rps
D=8cm
so....explanation of equation
(2 x Pie x T) = Power applied to the impeller
p=Fluid density
N= rps or revs per second
D= Diameter of impellerp=Fluid density
N= rps or revs per second
If you can show your workings that would be great!
When I type this:
2 * pi * 10 N/m / ( 1000 kg/m^3 * (1 Hz)^2 * (8cm)^5)
Into Google, it spits back out at me:
= 0.0191747598 kilometers per liter
*However*, you should be very careful to make sure that N does not have to be measured in radians / second (2π rad = 1 rev). If it does, then that N part should read (2 * pi * 1 Hz)^2.
