How do you convert a camcorder's hard drive GB to actual minutes of HD video?
I have never owed a digital camcorder before, so I apologize for my newbie question. I am thinking about buying a Panasonic 120GB/SDXC Hybrid HD Camcorder, but before I do, I am wondering how many minutes I can shoot before I have maxed out its memory. I am going on a long trip and would prefer not to take a bunch of SD cards with me if possible. Is there a basic conversion method someone can use to convert the amount of GBs to minutes of video shot?
it depends on the quality setting you chose. the "standard" quality for hybrid cameras is 6 mbps, so that is about 40 hours. however, beford shooting an entire trip at standard, try shooting some test video to see if this produces acceptable quality for you. personally i would never shoot below 24 mbps which would be about 10 hours, but i am not sure your camera can do that.
