is this HTPC build compatible?
I'm trying to put together a decent audio/media server that will look OK in the living room. It has to be relatively speedy, but very quiet. I have a high end tube amp, speakers and X-Fi card to handle the audio. I'm wondering if all these components will play nice together.
Specifically, will this power supply (ATX) fit the case (micro-ATX)?
HDD = Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB SATA
MOBO = GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-US2H AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
PSU = ENERMAX Tomahawk ETK405AST 405W ATX12V
CASE = Antec Fusion Remote Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case
CPU = AMD Athlon 64 X2 5050e Brisbane 2.6GHz Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core Processor Model ADH5050DOBOX
RAM = CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5C
If you want a quiet HTPC, you really should use a more efficient power supply. Get an 80-Plus certified PSU, certified to be at least 80% efficient, which generates less waste heat and runs cooler so the fans don't need to spin so fast (so it's quieter).
I recommend this one for your HTPC: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151060 It's 80Plus-certified, and also has 17 amps on both its +12V rails. (That enermax you mentioned is also dual +12V with 17 amps on each).
You should also get a quieter cooler for that CPU-- There is no such thing as a quiet stock cooler.

And finally, you should put the two case fans in that Antec case on fan controllers to dial down their speeds, for quietness.
Hope this helps!
