Help setting up wireless network (Internet > desktop > access point/router)?
I have a wifi access point/router attached to my Desktop on one lan port. On another port on same PC I have a dsl broadband modem connected. I want to share my internet connection with few of my friends thru wifi. I also want to be able to monitor the access point. That means my desktop would be in between broadband modem(internet) and the access point/router(users) and all are connected by LAN too. My access point has only 1 lan port(i.e poe). Anyone plz help?
Sorry for less details. My OS is Win Vista. Maybe its ICS but how do I configure it so that the AP can able to access Internet. In Vista there is no ICS but network bridge. 
My AP is of some unknown brand but I've checked it has many management options. I have a dsl with static IP. And LAN here means WLAN.
There are many operation mode shown in the AP setup page like bridge, router(WAN ethernet), router(WAN wireless),gateway etc to select. Also there's only one ethernet port on AP and modem.
You would be better off getting a router. If the functionality doesn't do the job, you can replace the firmware. One of the popular one is DD-WRT at http://www.dd-wrt.com
What I don't understand is your comments on Lan access and wireless access. I assume that some connect with wires and some with radio wave. Routers can handle this.
