dell xps 720 q6600 what ram??
hi, i have just bought a dell xps720 with q6600 processor 8800gtx graphics and 1tb hard disk moboard is nvidia 680i sli the computer is fine but i play battlefield 2142 alot and the ram i got with the computer is ddr2 4gb 333mhz 5.5.5.15 lat. i was wondering what is the fastest ram i can get to run on this compter without overclocking mhz and latency and where can i get it? many thanks
it does max out bf and runs pretty sweet with crysis i was just wondering what was the quickest and best ram i can get to run with this machine

the dell xps720 supports up to 8gb of Dual-Channel DDR2* SDRAM (667MHz or 800MHz, 4 DIMMs) when a 64-bit Operating System is installed
this is basically because the normal 32bit windows architecture will only support up to 4gb of ddr,ddr2 memory
as for memory speeds the fastest memory you can run on this p.c is 800mhz(the xps 720 also supports epp memory which is used for simplified memory overclocking)
battlefield 2142 should run fine with the memory you have at the moment,its not a graphic intensive game when compared to bioshock or crysis and these games will glide on your rig,try disabling your antivirus scanner,and other processes,these can affect your gameplay performance and can also produce lag
