I accidently purchased ECC memory instead of non-ECC memory for my Dell Dimension 2300. Will this memory work?
It is 1GB. Will the 1GB (512 x 2) work? or would it be better to return it and buy 512 MB non-ecc memory (which costs more than the deal i got)
I got the right CL3 133Mhz RAM, but it is ECC instead of the non-ECC for non servers.
Usually, DIMM slots do not support ECC-mode for home computers. You're best bet is to check out that crucial.com site and see if maybe you can squeeze by. Otherwise, return the RAM and buy non-ECC RAM.
