BSI Car Rack, Trunk Mount Bike Rack, Need instructions?
My inlaws let me use thier car rack, but I don't have instructions for it. It is a BSI Car Rack, trunk mount bike rack, and is black and yellow. It has three arms, and one is hinged. If you have any info on retailers who sell this brand or a link to the company, I'd appreciate it. Instructions on how to mount it would be helpful, also. I mounted it using two arms, but don't know what to do with the third hinged arm. I have a hatchback VW Golf. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, and just want to be sure that when I'm going down the highway, my $1000 bike doesn't get lost. Thanks!
Can't help you with model specific instructions for that particular rack, but most tubular trunk mount racks work very much alike. I'd suggest you stop buy your Local Bike Shop, for a 5 minute tutorial. Most LBS folks are good about that kind of thing. And if there is any doubt about the rigging after that, I'd say it would be good insurance for your bike to spend the $25 to $30 a decent trunk mount rack, that will come with instructions, costs.
