You'll need, a 9x13 pan, a blender, milk, white flour, eggs and butter. Also something to put on top. You could make delicious stir fry with sausage and peppers.
You can probably get six servings from each dutch baby if you serve it with a stir fry.
In the 9x13 pan, place 1 stick of real butter, cut into chunks. Preheat the oven to 450, and place the pan in the oven while it is preheating to melt the butter.
Follow these instructions exactly, especially in following the order of ingredients.
Crack six eggs in the blender and blend at the highest speed for 1 minute
With blender still running, trickle in 1.5 c milk, very slowly
With blender still running, spoon in 1.5 c flour, one small spoonful at a time. Continue running blender at highest speed for one more minute.
When butter is fully melted in the pan, pour the batter into the pan, place in the oven immediately for 20 - 25 minutes.
While it is cooking, mix up your stir fry and make sure the table is set.
This dish acts a lot like a souffle - the edges rise up quite a lot, and the middle is flat. Your guests should be seated and your already set table, and the stir fry should be done and at the table when the baby is done. When it is finished, grab the hot pads. and bring it directly from the oven to the table - it is so beautiful and impressive! So simple, cheap and tasty!
It will fall a little while you serve - but just put a piece on each person's plate, add some of the stir fry and eat up. Yum!
I also serve this for breakfast with sour cream and jam, or brown sugar and lemon juice, or topped with fruit and yoghurt.
