What are the laws/rules regarding Sewer Gas?
I work for a school district, my office is in the basement area as I am the Technology person. My office also has the servers and networking equipment in there. Over the last few weeks there has been a chronic smell of Sewer gas coming from either/both the floor drain in my office OR the bathroom fixtures in the bathroom right outside my door. It is so bad I find it unbearable and working/concentrating in that office is almost impossible. However, my boss's just laugh it off and walk away when confronted about it.
Is there any law regarding this kind of sewer gas in an office/work environment?
I have also been told that these gases can be very flammable, so isn't it another caution or problem that these gases are near electronic equipment?

Without knowing the sprecifics of the gas its hard to say the risk level, but there are several avenues you can do. First of all, your state has some form of workplace safety agency (can't say which one, you didn't specify). Go to them first, they can investigate and force the appropriate parties to take action. You do not need to get superiors involved, that said if you are the only one down there and repairs cost money be prepared for political repercussions.
