Buying a custom PC from neighborhood store vs. Best Buy intel i5 2300?
There's this neighborhood computer store offering new intel i5 2300 desktop w/ 4gb memory/1TB HDD/Windows 7 for $460.00. The price is very attractive considering barebones for i5 2300 is just under $400. My concern is the parts all new (even though if they say is all new) like processors and HDD. How can i be certain if they are all new. Or at $460.00 is really what this tier of PC cost now. Btw my budget is up to mid $500>>
Right click on my computer and select manage. Click the event viewer and scroll down until you see set up. This is the date the computers operating system was installed. And therefore, the date the computer came on line. If that date is more than a few months, it’s a used computer.
Computers become obsolete usually before they fail. I bought my laptop used and saved a bunch of money and it works fine. When buying used, just be sure to reformat the computer so you don’t get anyone’s old garbage.
