
Why my laptop is suddenly turned off itself?
Chronology:
1. Plugged in the AC cable to the laptop. Turned it on.
2. Waiting for windows XP SP2 to start.
3. I'm on desktop! Thanks God!
4. Unplugged the AC cable.
5. The Computer turned off/hang itself after about 3-5 seconds.
6. Tried to turn it on, in battery mode but it hangs/turns off when log in screen appeared.
Note:
1. The battery is FULL.
2. System restored to 2 weeks before its broken.
3. It works FINE with battery/AC mode on safe mode.
4. Tried to Disable all Startup items (ctfmon.exe is still active)
5. Tried to Disable all service (Non Microsoft service)
6. No password
7. It works fine 1 week ago
8. This is 4 years-old laptop. IBM ThinkPad X31
9. Tried chkdsk /f
Spec:
-Intel Pentium M 1.3 GHz Processor
-256MB PC2100 DDR Memory
-2.1" XGA TFT Display and ATI Radeon Mobility Graphics with 16MB Memory
Sounds like a virus got to your laptop. Remember what you were doing at your last session??
