Redundant Power Supply?
Hi, I currently using an Intel 510T switch on my home network. I recently swapped out a power supply on my computer, and I now have an extra 500w power supply sitting around. I remembered the "RPS" port on the back of my 510T, and decided to try it. However, every time I plug in my power supply to act as a redundant power supply, if on, the switch shuts off, and if off, it refuses to turn on. Do I need a specific type of PSU to act as a redundant one, or am I doing things in the wrong order? I know the power supply works. Help?
It is an ATX. I have no other PSUs to test on it.
I am not sure about the product, but I will assume your 500w was an ATX.. maybe it needs an AT? Maybe too much power? Did you try other PSUs ?
