Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC connection to a Belkin Wireless Router
I am attempting to connect my computer, with a "Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC" card to a "Belkin G Wireless Router".
I have plugged the cord in at both ends but the computer says that a network cable is unplugged. I check the driver for the card, the driver installed was released in september 05 but there doesn't seem to be a newer one on-line... any suggestions what it could be?
Also, Its a new cable, just unpackaged today. I'm Running windows XP. and i tried to uninstall the driver but it immediately reinstalled itself
Could it have anythingthing to do with the installation of "Windows TCP/IP Version 6"
The Realtek site offers all of the current drivers, but they still have Vista issues. This sounds EXACTLY like a vista problem. If you contact Belkin, they wont do anything helpful, but if you contact Realtek, you can trade in your ethernet card for a vista compatible version...but I hear it's a pain.
