Has anyone added the high gain antenna to a linksys 54G router? did see any real difference?
Yes, they do make a difference, but it often depends on your specific environment and what kinds of interference and other issues are present. Keep in mind that the radiation pattern of a high gain antenna is more flattened out, less like a donut and more like a pancake. So it goes out further and stronger horizontally (azimuth) but it's weaker in the up/down direction (elevation). So if your wireless router is in the basement and your laptop is on the 2nd floor bedroom, a high gain will actually make your signal WORSE. But the simple answer is YES, I did see a difference... your mileage may vary!
