Is it possible to swap a hard drive from a HP laptop to a dell and work properly?
I currently have a Pavilion . I wanted to use a XPS instead. Could I take the hard drive out of my HP and put it into the Xps and have it work properly or is there a configurations to set up first?

The drive hardware itself is compatible, but don't expect it to work immediately after the swap.
Safest bet would be to re-install the operating system after the swap, otherwise you'll be fighting with driver problems for the video, motherboard, network card and any other peripherals.
